What is Smart Charlotte 2050?
Smart Charlotte 2050 is a community–based planning process for Charlotte County’s future. The plan covers a vast range of topics from sustainability to creating walkable communities to enhancing our waterfronts. As a part of the County’s Comprehensive Plan, the Smart Charlotte 2050 process established a blueprint for the future of the County and provided an inclusive planning process that welcomed all residents, business owners and land owners.
Next Steps
After receiving over a year of outstanding public input on the Plan, the drafting of the Smart Charlotte 2050 Plan is nearing its end. The online comment period ended September 30, 2009. The Board of County Commission Transmittal Hearing was held December 15, 2009 and the Smart Charlotte 2050 Plan was approved for trasnmittal to the Department of Community Affairs.
